COMMERCIAL FINANCIAL MANAGER

Stamford, CT (Salary plus Bonus $120,000-$160,000 range)


Our client, a leading international infant brand and creator of award-winning infant products is seeking a Commercial Finance Manager for their new Stamford, Connecticut office. Positioned to become the number one brand in the United States and in this highly visible role, the Commercial Finance Manager will provide financial leadership and advice to a number of stakeholders around the business locally and internationally. These include Regional Executive General Managers, Commercial Directors, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, The Executive team and more.

In this important role, we seek a Commercial Financial Manager who will be the link between sales, marketing, operations and finance to drive the monthly revenue and profit progression against the Annual Operating Plan. The role encompasses managing the 5-year plan, the Annual Plan, and providing a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis - financial summaries of performance including risks and opportunities. This financial visionary needs to be statistical, globally upward thinking and most importantly have experience in overseeing the financial health of corporations in the $30M to -$50M range.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

· P&L responsibility and delivery of the current year AOP and the five-year Strategic Plan EBITDA targets;
· Partner with the General Manager and senior sales team within the region to appraise decisions, ensure initiatives are on track and direct the team in executing their plans;
· Work with Central finance functions and managing Executive of the region to develop key forecasts including; AOP and long term Strategic Plan;
· Deliver weekly / monthly reporting with insightful variance analysis, including recommendations to direct recovery of issues and to maximize opportunities;
· Coordination / preparation / presentation of the quarterly P&L forecasts;
· Monthly sales/margin/EBITDA updates as part of S&OP process;
· P&L analysis vs AOP / Forecast – Monthly/Quarterly and as necessary;
· Financial commentary and variance reports as required;
· Co-ordinate accurate sales forecasts via the monthly S&OP process to inform Supply Chain of key values;
· Governance of the PO process to deliver spending and overhead cost controls;
· Promotional Performance Evaluation and recommendation of promotional strategies in conjunction with the marketing leads;
· Drive cash management KPI’s including BU inventory and debtors;
· New product and new distribution Capital evaluation;
· Re-engineering and value engineering as needed to improve margin of all key brands/products;
· Develop process improvements utilizing internal systems to drive process efficiency.

Over the next 2-5 years, this position is expected to evolve into an executive leadership role where incumbents will report directly to you. Therefore, a long-term visionary employee is sought who impacts the company based on BU targets, KPI’s, Revenue progression, Profit & Margin Targets, delivering EBITDA and Margin percent’s etc.

Key Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree
· Qualified CIMA / ACCA (CPA not required for this role)
· Outstanding Excel and analytical skills
· Strong Commercial experience - sales and margin forecasting, financial planning and analysis
· P&L management experience and responsibility
· Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels, to any audience
· Ability to lead and drive change in a demanding environment
· Able to deliver to tight timescales
· Travel internationally 20-25%

Desirable Job Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience relevant to the role:

· Experience or knowledge in migration from COGNOS to TM1
· Experience working in a group environment / multi-site international operation
· Strong evidence of career progression preferably able to demonstrate a promoted track record
· Experience of working in a branded consumer goods company
· Experience of working in a commercial role in a private organization
· Strong communicator at all levels
· Ability to influence and lead all levels of management across the division
· Committed team worker, able to motivate and lead the team to achieve and deliver to tight deadlines
· A self-starter by nature with a positive, resilient ‘can do’ attitude.
