As an IndividualLife Audit Underwriting Consultant, you will be responsible for auditing underwriting cases forLincolns Life and Customer Solutions Business : all medical, financial, non:medical, reinsurance, legal, documentation, communication and any processing issues. You will develop reports for individual, team and department level and identify trends.
:Audits cases underwritten forLife and Customer Solutions: all amount limits and up to age 85
:Evaluates caseload to validate and determine appropriate course of action regarding underwriting requirements and offer was made within approval limit.
:Develops reports on audit findings, including identifying most common errors and trends.
:Manages the audit process efficiently and effectively for assigned caseloads including changing priorities as needed, being open to different approaches and views on underwriting issues
:Evaluates and identifies trends and issues and offers resolutions.
:Serves as a resource or prepares written documentation in one or more underwriting topics
:Consults with appropriate internal stakeholders and management on assigned cases. Takes ownership of case with respect to communications with management staff
:Develops and communicates presentations given to internal stakeholders (e.g. underwriters).
:Collaborates with internal stakeholders (e.g. underwriting team and medical staff)to select profitable risks
:Identifies and communicates different and new alternatives to improve process or underwriting approach
:Maintains current knowledge of underwriting regulatory rules/requirements and emerging issues/trends, assess the impact, and ensures that new trends/developments are appropriately incorporated in current and future solutions.
:Represents Lincoln at industry/meetings, acquires underwriting intelligence, shares information internally
:Undergraduate Degree required
:Underwriting : including medical, non:medical and financial risk selection
:ALU 101, ALU 201, ALU 202 and LOMApreferred
:6 : 10+ years of Life Underwriting experience with a 10 million approval limit or higher preferred
:Expertise in analyzing and interpreting complex financial documents including profit/loss statements, income statements, and balance sheets.
:Ability to read and interpret EKG reports and/or EKG Certification
:Proficient in Microsoft Excel
:A demonstrated track record of working with minimal supervision, being a self:starter and working with others in a team environment
:A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
