Job Description:/h3:
Job Summary:
Responsible for all technical applications within the department working with department Supervisor and Plant Superintendent.
Leads programming team on 1st shift and directs 2nd shift Operator/Program Editor with input from department Supervisor and 2nd Shift Supervisor.
Edits programs as needed to support production. Working with all CNC operators to ensure dimensionally acceptable product.
Works in conjunction with Engineering completing all quote requests to department.
Reviews all Contract Reviews and offers input to Engineering, department Supervisor, and Plant Superintendent as required.
Attends DRT meetings for new jobs and provides input on fixture configuration, work center to be used, rate per hour, tooling and any other special considerations.
Takes lead on all technical applications with new jobs processed through department.
Creates new programs and directs the install and debug of new programs and fixtures.
Writes RFTs to Engineering and attends weekly RFT meeting. Works with MFG Engineering Group.
Leads weekly Programmers Meeting to keep open lines of communication between Operator/Program Editors on 1st and 2nd shifts and department supervisor.
Manages tooling for department. Reviews usage, requests quotes from MRO and submits POs to ensure tooling requirements are met.
Reviews and make recommendations for new equipment purchases when required.
Works closely with department Supervisor and advises on scheduling and resource allocation to meet production requirements.
Core hours are 7:00AM to 3:30PM; additional hours may be necessary depending on production requirements and shift transfer responsibilities.
Observes company and departmental processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
Participates in continuous improvement projects.
Performs other duties as required.
1. High school graduate or equivalent with additional college:level courses in engineering and/or management desired.
2. Proficient with Master Cam.
3. Works with Caron System and Elbo Control Tool Setter.
4. Experience operating CNC machines, creating new programs and making adjustments to existing programs.
5. Knowledge of measuring equipment. CMM, dial indicators, comparator, micrometer and gauging.
6. Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
7. Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment.
