Leveraging the latest state:of:the:art technologies, and collaborating with systems engineers, submarine software is developed and maintained for a great variety of submarine platforms and control systems such as: Ship Control, Combat Launch Control, Weapons Stowage and Handling, as well as other specialized embedded real:time safety critical shipboard and database systems, simulators, and land based trainers. Specific responsibilities include: Day to day administration of a multi:site Wide Area NetworkLong term planning for expansion and obsolescence. Be EBA?s POC for Software Assurance activities. Preparing presentations, participating in NAVSEA design reviews and interfacing closely with hardware, system and software engineering teams.A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or equivalent technical degree is preferred. A MasterA?s degree in these areas is highly desirable. At least 2 years of experience is preferred relevant to this job description. In:depth knowledge of computer network infrastructures and operating systems (Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris) is required. Understanding of both DoD (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) and NIST security controls is desired. CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications are preferred. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and writing skills, including the ability to write documentation as required. Candidate must be highly motivated, perform independently, as well as interact with other groups and organizations in an engineering environment and be able to work with Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) Level 3 processes. Familiarity with configuration management and quality assurance is required.
