It is the policy of the Company to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, transgender status, national origin, age, protected veteran or disabled status, or genetic information.Electric Boat Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer for the Requirements Management Systems (RMS) team to serve in a full time position in support of Navy programs in Department 454, Tactical Software Engineering.The software engineer will be responsible for software application development, verification, maintenance, and support for the RMS infrastructure and therefore will work directly with: DOORS eXtension Language (DXL) RPE Development and Scripting JavaScript Database query / JAZZ dashboard design License / Token planning and lifecycle managementThe software engineer will also support the team as it performs enterprise and project level consultation, design, setup, project task management, administration, lifecycle management, and support for the Requirements Management Systems (RMS) at General Dynamics Electric Boat. The engineer will work closely with various project internal customers, external customers, other engineering disciplines, system engineers, and vendors to develop and deliver products that meet or exceed quality, schedule, and cost requirements.The engineer must have the ability to work effectively with other departments, while meeting schedule and budget constraints. The engineer will work on site at the Electric Boat facilities in Groton and New London. Responsibilities may require traveling to vendor facilities.Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering is preferred; other Engineering degrees will be considered.Required Two (2) or more years of experience with Software EngineeringMust have experience as a software developer with experience with scripting languages, preferably direct experience with IBM Rational DXL and RPE, others will be considered.Exposure to Agile and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and practices is perferred.Direct experience with a Requirements Management System perferred, such as the IBM Rational tool suite (see specific tools below); others will be considered.IBM Rational Dynamic Object:Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)IBM Rational Publishing Engine (RPE)IBM Rational JAZZ platformIBM Rational Team Concert (RTC)IBM Rational Quality Manager (RQM)IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) Ability to systematically identify and creatively drive technical and programmatic solutions to a successful conclusion.Knowledge of Systems and Software Engineering Standards and Specifications preferred.Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to present to the customer and EB management.
