Job Description:/h3:
Working from our Stratford, CT office, the Systems Analyst will help William B. Meyers continued growth by assessing, analyzing, and implementing IT applications that add to, modernize, or enhance the existing portfolio of systems. As a part of the IT Applications team, this analyst will document requirements, perform gap analysis to assess deficiencies in the existing set of systems, and review potential solutions, including addressing issues related to suitability to requirements, cost, complexity of integration, and buy:vs.:build considerations. Managing the ensuing projects to enhance, (re:)implement, remediate, or otherwise change existing or new systems will also be a part of this role. While this is not a software development position, a level of technical proficiency will be required in order to be successful.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:Requirements Gathering
:Work with stakeholders from IT, Sales, Operations, and Accounting to obtain, assess, and document software requirements.
:Assess existing business processes for alignment, and recommend changes to those processes to accommodate requirements.
:Systems Analysis
:Assess current state of software systems, which are built on Salesforce, Microsoft.NET, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and commercial off:the:shelf platforms. This assessment should include suitability of the system as it pertains to requirements, usability, stability, and ease/completeness of integration.
:Research available target systems and solutions. Evaluate these options for technical
strengths/weaknesses, total cost of ownership, and alignment with requirements and business processes.
:Work with internal stakeholders to make decisions regarding changes to system portfolio.
:Systems Configuration
:Set up, configure, and customize cloud:based and/or internally hosted commercial software products. Analyze downstream effects of configuration choices, and account for these effects in decisions.
:Work with internal and external technical resources on project goals including data migration from legacy systems, integration with other systems and tools, installation and setup of hardware (mobile devices, scanners, tablets, etc.), and configuration of networks.
:Project Management
:Manage project schedule. This includes developing project plans, holding regular cross:team status meetings to check progress, and ensuring timely delivery of actions.
:Track issues and risks, and work on mitigation strategies of those risks.
:Report project status to manager and other company leaders.
Minimum Qualifications
:4+ years working in software implementation projects
:Working understanding of latest trends in the software industry, including Cloud, Mobile, and Web Services
:Ability to learn quickly in an fast:paced environment
:Experience gathering and documenting functional and technical system requirements
:Understanding of components of successful software project delivery, including vendor selection, scope management, installation, configuration, business process design, legacy data migration, change management, user training, production support, and system monitoring.
:Experience in managing high: and low:level project plans.
:Strong written and oral communications
:Ability to conduct meetings and presentations with associates from all levels of management
:Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others
:B.S. in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management, or similar. Experience working with Salesforce, including the Sales Cloud and AppExchange, is highly beneficial.
:Experience in transportation, warehousing, logistics, or a related industry is beneficial.
