Job Description:/h3:
We are currently in need of a
Buyer/Planner/Customer Service Rep to fill a position that is soon to become open.
The successful candidate will need to be a self starter, decision maker, detail oriented, capable of multitasking, have excellent phone etiquette, and experience in a manufacturing environment would be preferable. A strong aptitude for planning, ordering, organization and collaboration as well as the ability to be a team player is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Coordinate activities required to meet customer requirements including responses to them on status, delivery dates,consignment stock, etc.
* Production planning as needed including ensuring correct paperwork flows to the appropriate areas to trigger requests for material, personnel, tooling, etc to ship conforming product on time and to follow up in a timely manner.
* Perform purchasing functions including setting up internal and vendor Kanban systems ensuring product is on hand to meet production and tool room requirements.
* Support sales/engineering by streamlining material and other requirements for Mold Trials, Engineering testing and other customer related activities.
* Document customer requirements such as special needs, delivery times, etc. to ensure consistency in event of absences.
* Identify and put in place continuing improvement plans that improve meeting customer requirements while coordinating with the QMR.
* Give direction to material handling personnel (production floor, shipping, receiving, inventory management) as the need arises to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Support production by assisting in identifying areas for improvement to improve efficiencies and reduce overall material and other costs.
* Establish KPIs, reporting monthly
* Interface with suppliers and customers in person, at Tii or their site.
* Participate in Continuing Improvement activities including but not limited to GEMBA walks, Stand Down meetings.
* Identify and make recommendations for reducing costs and improving efficiencies.
* Comply with QMS standards.
* Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
1. Experience with customer service, production activities, planning and purchasing.
2. Ability to work independently, self: starter and get results through others.
3. Proven success working as a team member
4. Ability to communicate effectively
5. Minimum education: 4 years college
6. Thorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures.
7. Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions, make routine decisions independently, sustain periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity, and work harmoniously with others.
8. Ability to complete any and all other duties as assigned by management.
A temp to hire status is desirable but will consider a direct hire based on interview results.
A Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is required, as well as a professional demeanor. This will be an exempt position with salary starting in the 40:45,000 range.
