Req ID: 97934 Entity: AMR Job Title: Finance Manager                    Reports To: Regional Operating & Finance OfficerDepartment: Finance                                                              Location: New Haven, CTFLSA Status: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: With the guidance of the Regional Finance Officer, the Finance Manager will assist all levels of the organization with financial analysis and review and be responsible for maintaining budgets and forecasts for various business units throughout the region.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide financial reporting and analytical support to respective General Managers and the Regional Finance OfficerDevelop business unit operating budgets and forecasts utilizing budget templates in OutlooksoftAssist operations personnel with budget activity, proper expenditure allocations, coding, document preparation, and other accounting related activitiesProvide assistance with outside auditors for annual and special projects as neededConsolidate and reforecast capital budgets as necessaryPerform month-end financial review to detect reporting errors and to recommend accrual adjustments to Corporate AccountingPrepare month end variance analysis to budget and forecastMonitor average patient charge, payor mix, cash performance, and DSO trends versus budget by contract, payor, and business unitPursue continuous improvement of data collection, analytical processes, reporting methods, and financial modeling techniques.Facilitate the financial education and capabilities within operations management.Pursue continuing education on Medicare and other billing laws and regulations.Assure that scheduled price adjustments are implemented on a timely basis.Monitor key performance indicators including payroll, transports, and unit hoursConduct periodic review of existing contract performancePrepare proformas on new business opportunities and business retentionProvide analytical support to labor union negotiating teamsAttend and participate in local operating management meetings and all recurring finance meetingsParticipate on Regional tasks and special projects as assignedAdherence to all company policies and procedures and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems. Minimum Qualifications:Education/Licensing/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance related field, required. CPA or MBA preferred.Experience: Five (5) years experience performing budgeting, forecasting, and general accounting.Knowledge and Skills: Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software (Outlooksoft, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.).
