Your Career Begins at Timken If you're ready for a challenging career that provides you with the ability to advance personally and professionally, look to Timken. Our associates make the world more productive by improving the efficiency and reliability of the machinery that keeps industry in motion. Our engineering team works with electric motors from industrial customers in a diverse range of functions – from nuclear power to hydroelectric to emergency diesel generators. We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team for engineering services, engineering design, and engineering project management. The Project Engineer’s duties include: •Implement customer’s requirements for the repair, modification or upgrade of customer’s equipment.•Evaluate the condition of equipment and determine which components are re-useable, repairable or must be replaced.•Perform failure analysis and create technical reports for customers.•Define the scope of work needed to return equipment back to full working condition.•Measure and reverse engineer non-Schulz/Timken components or methodologies.•Design, specify and create detail drawings of components.•Build job travelers that lay out the order of operations and describe the work needed to carry out the repairs or modifications of gears, components and equipment.•Assist in technical training of shop personnel.•Provide technical support to suppliers, customers, field service and customer service.  The Project Engineer’s background includes: •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical disciplines)•At least five (5) years prior professional-level engineering experience within an electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, design engineer, or related capacity.•At least two (2) years engineering project management experience, including experience leading projects with safety-sensitive, high-dollar, or high-impact elements.•Strongly prefer prior experience working with electric motors, including motor re-engineering, evaluation, and testing.•Prefer seismic-analysis and vibration-analysis experience.•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel. •Must be proficient in Engineering software tools (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks).•Prior experience with SAP or Epicor preferred.•Prior experience with Visio or Microsoft Project preferred.•Must have strong verbal and written communications skills.•Must be able to discuss engineering terminology and ideas with audiences with varying degrees of technical background (be able to explain engineering concepts to non-engineers).       All qualified applicants shall be treated equally according to their individual qualifications, abilities, experiences and other employment standards.
