This individual will support product development to include Surface Preparation and Integration and Advanced Deposition Groups. The Scientist will be responsible for the metrology roadmap and daily customer request management of the Danbury Analytical Services group. This technical leader will partner cross functionally with a number of groups: technicians, scientists, applications engineers, local management, sales and marketing, as well as global technical team members. Respond quickly and effectively to internal and external customer requests for routine requests and new methods;Team with external partners to expand our analytical network;Communicate cross functionally throughout the organization and with customers to understand and solve problems;Participate on technical project core teams to drive excellence in measurement capabilities and data analysis/interpretation;Perform MSAA?s on measurement techniques to ensure meaningful results;Contribute to metrology roadmap by identifying capability gaps and proposing plan to address, including objective/purpose of project, costs of project, and resources needed ;Lead technical team in transfer of methods to and from global sites;Ensure complete documentation of methods;Coach, mentor and guide junior analytical staff, taking an active leadership role;Train other analytical staff in job functions, manufacturing processes, company and departmental policies and quality systems;Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans;Ability to travel 10 to 20 domestically, with some occasional global travel.Successful candidates will typically have the following skill set: MasterA?s degree in engineering or science, Ph.D. preferred with solid knowledge in analytical chemistry;Semiconductor technology experience is preferred;Prior experience working in a chemical / gas manufacturing environment preferred;General lab instrument (HPLC, IC, GC, ICP:MS, ICP:AES, FT:IR, Raman) operations and maintenance experience preferred; ICP:MS strongly preferred;Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office; LIMS experience strongly preferred;Strong experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEAA?s, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology;Knowledge of requirements associated with the ISO 17025 and ISO 9001; Knowledge of GLP standards; Experience spanning TEM, EELS, SEM, defect inspection, optical and X:ray techniques, electrical test and AFM is a plus.
