Job Descriptions : Maintenance Person

Guest Service:
1. Basic knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, A/C
2. Polite to all guests and to their needs
3. Fast service and repairs to any room problem
4. Check room i.e. knock and call out before entering
5. Continued light:check in all areas
6. When working in an occupied room to be clean, efficient and fast
7. Helpful to guests i.e. mending or repairing personal items

Attitude:
1. Good understanding of Company rules
2. Clean tidy uniform at all times (SHORT HAIR TOO)
3. Personal hygiene at all times good
4. Good attitude to all management and other staff
5. Good time keeping
6. Always completes work tasks even if it means working past shift
7. Aware of Health and Safety
8. Proper understanding of Fire Procedures
9. Reports and repairs deficiencies

Team Work:
1. Helps co:workers when need arises
2. Performs extra duties from time to time when need arises
3. Full co:operation with management
4. Good team:work and co:operation with all staff members
5. Never argues with co:workers in public areas

Completion of Duties:
1. Always start shift 10 minutes early to be updated days work
2. To start any maintenance repairs from duty log
3. To start regular maintenance in rooms example, bathrooms
4. To do light checks in all rooms on a regular basis
5. Snow removal and salting of all entrances when required
6. Cleaning exterior parking lot and grounds by 8:00 a.m. daily
7. Answers all pager call immediately
8. Reporting unusual situations to management. Example, parked car for any extended period of time
9. Responds to emergencies in the correct method
10. To do light check outside of building when dark
11. Completion of all work assignments to the satisfaction of management

JOB OVERVIEW:
Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting work. Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis. Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all:building equipment and rooms. Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Maintenance Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Engineering work shop, all areas of the hotel
Job involves working:
:Under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
:Under variable noise levels.
:Outdoors/indoors.
:Around fumes and/or odor hazards.
:Around dust and/or mite hazards.

:Using stepladders.
