Job Description:/h3:
CAM/Engineering Technician
The CAM/Engineering Technician trains to perform or performs data analysis, manufacturing process identification, job preparation and release, or other CAM/engineering specialties; performs related duties as required in a quick:turn, prototype printed circuit manufacturing environment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
:Reviews customer requirements as they apply to product manufacture.
:Performs computer assisted analysis of customer supplied data.
:Reports discrepancies to customer in a timely and organized manner.
:Creation of tooling package and distribution of tooling data, drawings, and specification sheets required for manufacturing.
:Enters data and maintains job
information/tracking database.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
:Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent including coursework in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, AND successful completion of a technical training course in CAD/CAM; or,
:A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and drafting; principles and practices used in mechanical and electronic fields.
Ability to: read, interpret, and enforce engineering plans and specification requirements; make accurate engineering calculations; use and care for engineering and drafting instruments and equipment; to input, access, and analyze data using a personal computer; prepare and maintain accurate records; work effectively with customers and staff; perform work with a minimum of supervision; perform technical research; use computer equipment to change databases, update files, and produce designs or reports.
