Job Description:/h3:
The Manufacturing Engineer supports production including problem solving and maintenance of all process documentation. This position involves close interaction with numerous engineering disciplines and hourly functions. Ability to work in a team environment is a must. Applicant must be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. A strong commitment to continuous improvement and Root Cause Corrective Action is required.
* Responsible for all aspects of the Assembly Process including Tooling, written instructions and all Process Documentation
* Work with Product Engineering and Assembly Area personnel to develop efficient methods for assembling product
* Design or specify test equipment as required
* Maintain/complete all required Manufacturing Engineering documentation including process sheets, engineering changes, and non:conformance documentation
* Maintain configuration control of all operation sheets on the production floor releasing all changes within 30 days
* Participate in weekly IPD team meetings
* Attend daily production meetings
* Record all non:conformances as they occur
Continuous Improvement
* Identify cost:savings and quality improvement projects in assigned areas and move them from concept to implementation
* Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
* Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
* Log and measure non:value added work due to process inefficiencies, COPQ and equipment issues
* Compile data for monthly COPQ reviews including improvement plans
* Provide input into weekly Operations reviews
Production Support
* Lead electromechanical troubleshooting of Product and support equipment
* Participate in FMEAs, EH and S reviews and investigation of component failures
* Provide training for Manufacturing Engineers and/or hourly employees on assigned tasks and projects
* Coordinate schedules and work required by associates to complete tasks in a timely manner
* Resolve production stoppages in a timely manner to minimize impact on production
* Respond promptly to on call support requests
* Complete skills training matrix for hourly employees and review quarterly
* Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing required
* Must be able to support on:call responsibilities during off:shift hours
* Experience with manufacturing
technology/concepts and cost reductions
* Knowledge in electro:mechanical components
* Experience with reading electrical and mechanical P and IDs
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work independently and proactively
* Experience with product introduction (prototype to pilot to volume ramp:up)
* Varied computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
BS in Electrical, Mechanical or
Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
