33393BR: Sr. Engineer, Structures
We are looking for talented and passionate engineers to join our team.
The Engineering organization at Pratt and Whitney is divided into four Module Centers, including Hot Section, Compression and Mechanical Systems, Fans and Externals, and Product Delivery. The Module Centers are a world:class engineering organization, aligned by component:level hardware in different sections of the jet engine. The four module centers work in tandem to deliver Pratt and Whitneys trademark Dependable Engines.
Experienced structures engineers will provide technical and analytical support for commercial or military programs, with responsibility for the durability and structural integrity of engine components. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, or thermal analysis.
They will be expected to provide analytical results and technical solutions from preliminary design through engine development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service; participate on multi:discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight; and plan and cover validation testing (engine and rig) and data:reduction.
Other duties include supporting production and in:service field investigations, as well as using Finite:element and classical methods to perform strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses. Lastly, experienced structures engineers will coordinate with others to advance the technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods, plus document and present results to management and external customers.
Experienced structures engineers will be exposed to the exciting world of materials and structural engineering at Pratt and Whitney.

:Has in:depth knowledge of the discipline that may extend to similar fields
Experience / Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
:B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, or related discipline
:5 years of related design engineering experience
:U.S. citizenship required
